SEFIT, the Spanish Society of Phytotherapy, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. It has played a pivotal role in advancing evidence-based herbal medicine in Spain through scientific education, national guidelines, and the promotion of rigorous research standards. By fostering collaboration among clinicians, pharmacists, researchers and regulatory experts, SEFIT has strengthened the scientific credibility and safe therapeutic use of medicinal plants. As an active member of ESCOP, SEFIT has significantly contributed to the development and dissemination of high-quality European herbal monographs and to the harmonization of phytotherapy standards across Europe. Through joint congresses, participation in the board of directors and scientific committees, SEFIT has served as a strong voice for southern Europe within ESCOP, promoting Mediterranean herbal traditions grounded in modern science. Its continued leading engagement in the board and scientific committee, it reinforces ESCOP’s mission of integrating phytotherapy into responsible healthcare.
